Pater Nurgle Rhino

Description

So, here is my first vehicle for Warhammer 40k. I grabbed some plans over the internet, printed them and cut the pieces in very thick paper (2,5mm thick), and then assembled it. As the paper was too thick, many pieces became twisted and out of place, looking like the sort of Rhino an ork would make XD

First I though about converting it for my Waaagh as a Looted Rhino, but I gave a look in the old ork codex and it wasn't worth it. So I decided to use some biscuit mass and convert it for Papa Nurgle instead =D

The gore, teeth, eyes, noses and the freakish Plaguebearer head upon the bolter were all modeled in biscuit, the spikes are wooden sticks and the APC is all made of paper and glue (Quite cheaper than the real miniature...).

For the fluff, this APC, tenderly called "Pater Nurgle" was recovered by the Devourers of Flesh, a small warband from the Death Guard, from the ruins of Istvaan V. At the massacres that happened at the planet, in times of the Horus Heresy, a lone Death Guard astartes locked himself inside a Rhino to protect himself from the life eater virus, driving the vehicle away from the orbital bombardment targets and inside a small system of caves. After some weeks inside the tank, the nameless astartes started to suffer with the lack of combustible, air, water and food, and seeing no way to escape the planet and the madness that overtook his brothers, accepted the blessings of the Dark Gods and, over 10.000 years, slowly changed into a symbiotic creature, half man and half machine, with three blind eyes and a gaping maw, overtaken by hunger and despair.

Following dreams and visions from the Warp, Hansell the Leprous took his Devourers to Istvaan in a quest for this unsung hero of Nurgle. Some years of excavation and traveling finally payed off and the hideous daemon-tank was found. The spirit inside it knows only pain, hunger and suffering, and can't even remember his own name, so, to make the Rhino more usable, Hansell bound some Nurgle daemons in the machine, drawing hexagramatic runes over and around the hull. One of this daemons manifested in the heavy bolter over the Rhino, with the barrel coming out his foul mouth, the others act controlling the symbiotic spirit and driving him to obey the Devourers orders in exchange for meat and blood.

Really very impressive, after reading your blog I think it's a brilliant way to pursue a hobby under such restrictions.

Bravo.

I've made a few paper model vehicles myself, they can look just as good as the actual models.
