Another NPC for my upcoming Dark Heresy W40k RPG campaign
Nice Bertson is the Inquisiton official pilot, navigator and jack-of-all-trades in the Demimondus sector. She is a female 26 years old, and have the Navigator gene and it's distinctive third eye. Most of time she works as personal pilot for the Inquisitor Flavia Regia, but she is also a capable mechanic and can handle herself in a fight.
She was born in a starship named "Wrath of the Emperor", and when she was a child the ship was boarded by pirates and she was sold in slavery. At 15 years old, Nice found herself conscripted in the imperial guard. As guardsman, she learned to fly as a pilot, and was twice saved by her Valkyrie armored hull in the war. With help of a friendly techpriest, she melted part of the damaged hull and made an amulet in shape of the Imperial Aquila.
She would have died sooner or later in the battlefield, if a new commissar didn't asked her to remove the bandanna she always wear over the forehead and spotted her "third eye".
Recognized as a Navigator, she was sent to Earth to learn to navigate in the Warp, and after finishing her learning, she was recruited by the Ordo Xenos to escort the Inquisitor Flavia, and still works for her.
Nice is short (1,50m), short tempered and hyperactive, she uses to sing and tap while bored. She envies tall and "two-eyed" people, and don't expect much respect or love from anyone. Nice grown up in the heat of battle, she knows mutants, girls and short people have only to wish a quick and painless death, everything else is a bonus.
similiar... I just saw I-phone crap where they putted the soudnvideos and such, but I don't want the screen to turn around like drunk when I move my arm.
Also, I want to insert it in a case, with a switch instead of the function buttons and the direction buttons... so, zwi sticks and so on^^
CORRECTIONS: If you are enslaved by chaos pirates, you will be sold to a daemon prince on a daemon world in the warp. You will probably be killed by a daemon right after the sale. It is next to impossible to escape, only space marines have ever done that. If she is a Navigator (which is a big huge important detail) then she should have her third eye covered up instead of magnified, since it can suck the life force out of people. Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy are two separate divisions of the Imperium of Man. Navigators typically look kind of in-bred. Also, WH40k fiction is filled to the brim with pretty female navigators, just once I'd like to see a square jawed male navigator wearing an armor plated grenadiers cap.
Hahahahahah, well, they were normal ordinary pirates, not chaos ones... Of course Chaos daemons would find a navigator quite tasty
And yes, she had no idea what she was until a commissar dispatched her to Earth for navigator training. She and most of people around that knew of her "third eye" just though she was a dirty sinful horrible mutant and had to die in the front lines to atone for being born.
The helmet-like thing in her head is probably used just for navigating, probably to enhance her ability or offer some kind of HUD, she wears a bandanna while in contact with others.
Hahahahah, I guess fiction in general is full of sexy exotic girls, mostly because they are written by men (or by women that project themselves in the characters), but in 40k art navigators are usually shown as creepy gaunt guys
I'm sorry to inform you that the navigator's third eye is the one mutation that is not randomly occuring. Only navigators can give birth to navigators, so they have to marry amoungst their own kind to perpetuate the mutation, which is why they are all creepy and inbred looking... with the exception of the women, which is annoying. it is possible for Nice to be the illegitamate daughter of a normal human being and a navigator, because it's never been explained what that pairing would produce.
The Dark Era of Technology maybe was Fallout time
by that way, we had that in dark heresy .. I mean, such devices..
GM: "Know these Pip Boys in Fallout?"
Group: "Yeah?"
GM: "These ones in modern you get on your arms!"
*i raised my hand* "Yes?"
Me: "Can we agree to name them Pipboys then, just that we know what we mean?"
Portable Cogitadors, Pipboy Pattern
by that way, I try to make a device for my PSP, using it as Pip-Boyish thingy
I saw lots of cool conversions of iphones and PSPs into Pipboy-wrists
Also, I want to insert it in a case, with a switch instead of the function buttons and the direction buttons... so, zwi sticks and so on^^
