Two thoughts.
1) Have you seen the 'Lemat Revolver' [link]
2) Any fire arm will work in space. The propellant charge has every thing it already needs inside the cylinder to fire. Other problems are thermal stresses due to the instances of being in a vacuum. (I.E. space is both cold and hot due to the ay heat is transferred etc)
3) Have you perhaps though of having the barrel 'under-slung' much like the Mateba series? [link] And this 8 (Eight) round version [link]
Much cheers to you and yours.
But, yeah, cut own it is one scary looking item. Heck, even still full sized it looks beautiful.
Much cheers to you and yours.
Then again, if it's 12x30mm, then its going to be slightly less powerful than .50AE
Also, guns will work fine in vacuum, because modern propellants already carry oxidisers, which allow combustion to occur. It won't be as clean as in air due to much reduced oxygen, but the weapon would indeed fire, with reduced power. Imagine running a car at high altitude, how its power will be strangled due to lack of air.
If you were using a direct impingement weapon like the AR-15, the incomplete combustion would jam it very quickly.
