In my Dungeons & Dragons Ravenloft campaign, the players defeated Bluebeard and took control of the island just to discover the real darklord was trapped in an alchemical coma, in the depths of his castle, hidden behind ruses and traps.
In the fight that followed, he killed three characters and some NPCs before the players put an end to his (un)life...
